Terms of Use

Estimates only

Results and reports summarize historical public records near an address. They are not a survey or inspection and not a guarantee or prediction of depth, water quality or yield at any property. They are not engineering, legal or financial advice.

Drilling rules

In Idaho, only a licensed well driller may drill a well with powered equipment. Confirm permits, health district setbacks, subdivision rules and city water requirements before you plan a well.

Drillers

Drillers who contact you through this site are independent businesses. We check that they hold a current IDWR license, but we don't perform, supervise or guarantee their work. Any agreement is between you and the driller. Drillers pay Well Depth Finder a flat monthly subscription for their county; homeowners pay nothing.

Premium reports

A Premium Property Well Report costs $39, paid through Stripe's secure checkout. Before you pay, we check that there are enough well records near the property for a useful report. After payment the report builds from live state and federal data and you can download it right away; we also email you a link that works for 30 days. If your report won't load, or a state data source is down and doesn't recover within 3 days, email us for a full refund. Reports are for your own use and the people you share them with in a transaction; they may not be resold. Prepaid packs (10 or 25 reports) are delivered as a code that can be used for that many reports, never expire, and are non-refundable once any report has been ordered with them; unused packs can be refunded within 30 days.

Septic and flood information

Septic ratings come from the USDA soil survey map, not a test of your lot; your health district's site evaluation decides what septic system is allowed. Flood zones come from FEMA maps and are not an official flood determination; lenders order their own.

Data source

Well data comes from the Idaho Department of Water Resources and may contain errors or omissions. Well Depth Finder is not affiliated with IDWR.
